Magical Kit for Letter to Santa Claus

Kit Contents

• 3 red flying lanterns with hooks
• 3 special cards to write to Santa Claus
• 1 stencil with Christmas motifs
• 1 white permanent marker

 

Important Safety Instructions

⚠️ READ BEFORE USE

1. This activity must be carried out under adult supervision
2. Choose an appropriate location:
   • Clear area without trees or buildings nearby
   • More than 5 km away from airports
   • Away from power lines
3. Required weather conditions:
   • Light wind (less than 15 km/h)
   • No rain
   • Good visibility

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Lantern Preparation

• Carefully unpack the lantern
• Gently unfold it into a cylindrical shape
• Check that the fabric is not torn
• Make sure the hook is securely fastened

2. Decoration (20-30 minutes before launch)

1. Place the lantern on a clean surface
2. Use the provided stencil to trace the patterns:
   • Position the stencil on the lantern
   • Hold it firmly
   • Use the white marker to draw through the patterns
3. Add personal decorations
4. Let dry for a few minutes

 

3. Letter Preparation

1. Take one of the provided cards
2. Write your message to Santa Claus
3. Attach the card to the lantern hook and close it
4. Verify that the card is securely fastened

4. Launch

1. Choose a clear area
2. Wait for the wind to be calm
3. Fully unfold the lantern
4. Inflate the lantern with a back-and-forth movement
5. Remove the burner protection
6. Ask an adult to light the burner
7. Hold the lantern vertically
8. Wait for it to fill with hot air (2-3 minutes)
9. When the lantern pulls upward, gently release it

 

5. Observation

• Follow the lantern with your eyes during its ascent
• It should rise for 8-10 minutes
• The lantern will naturally descend once cooled or will be fully consumed in the air

Tips for a Successful Experience

• Prepare the activity at dusk, the show is more magical at twilight
• Take photos to immortalize this moment
• Film the lantern’s flight
• Tell a story while the lantern rises
• Make a wish as a family

Troubleshooting

If the lantern doesn’t fly properly:

1. Check that it is fully unfolded
2. Make sure the heat source is working properly
3. Wait for the lantern to be sufficiently inflated
4. Try again in a more wind-sheltered location
